Finally caught up with one of the best games on the Playstation 2, Final Fantasy X. This is one amazing game. Although its based on the RPG / Adventure game concept, this game is really more of an interactive movie. The entire game is made up of a series of cut-scenes with some fighting and character building in-between. The parts where you have to engage in battle to build character experience is turn-based, so the good news for someone like me is that you can take your time and think through your actions. This is not a game for button-mashers or people with short attention spans. The story is very well developed and the interface is easy to learn.

The only bad thing game-play wise is that you can’t skip over cut-scenes you’ve already seen in cases where you have to restart from a save point. Some of these scenes are very long, in some cases I just sit and read a magazine while waiting to get to the battle that I previously lost. Another complaint is that you can’t save whenever you want, I’ve sometimes spent nearly an hour getting to the next save point, guess I probably should of paused the game and left the PS2 on instead of losing sleep. But these are minor problems, the real problem is that I’m losing whole weekends playing this game! If you haven’t played this game, go out and buy it now.
