The Best PS3 Game??!!

Can it be true? The best PS3 game currently available is actually a PS2 game? Yes, I am talking about God Of War II, the sequel to one of the all time best games on the PS2. Its a good thing that the PS3 can play PS2 games, otherwise it would still be sitting in my living room gathering dust waiting for some good games to be released. Come on Sony, please focus on the PS3 as a gaming platform and not some multi-media, convergence, synergy thingamajig-dealie-bob. I love the Blu-Ray player, but I’d give up that feature if I could get some good games, and I’m not talking about the ones that were ported from the Xbox 360. Sony, please don’t let the PS3 die from the same “oh, it also plays games” marketing confusion that slowly killed the PSP. As a side note, the PS2 console is still outselling the PS3 by about a 3:1 ratio.

Donate Your Spare CPU Cycles

Do you leave your computer on all the time? Then you might want to consider donating some of your spare CPU time to a worthy project like World Community Grid. This project, like SETI@home (a UC Berkeley Project) and Folding@home (a stanfurd project, which also runs on the PS3), uses your computer to perform complex calculations on large datasets. World Community Grid has projects that will help fight cancer, AIDS, and Muscular Dystrophy. After downloading and installing some software, the servers at these projects will send a small amount of data to your computer and ask it to perform some calculations on the data when its not doing anything like when your screensaver comes on. When your computer is done, the results are sent back to the project servers. It takes no effort on your part and you get to tell your friends that your computer is part of a distributed super-computer, okay so maybe its not something you’ll tattoo to your forehead, but its still a worthy cause.

Sad Lesson For A Little Girl

Read this blog post today and it almost made me cry. Its so sad that a little girl has to learn how snotty people can be over something so trivial.

Fun With A Cellphone Camera

Having nothing better to do while waiting for some friends at the LA County Museum of Art, I decided to experiment with the cellphone camera.

To The Recycling Bin Diver

If you’re gonna steal the recycling out of the bins on trash day, I have the following requests for you:

1) Please don’t do it when I’m asleep, you are making too much noise and I have to hear you going through all my neighbor’s bins as well.

2) Don’t make a freaking mess. Last time I had to sweep up the broken glass bottle you left behind.

I don’t mind that you are stealing the recycling to make a few bucks, just do so quietly and don’t make a mess.

Mii, Myself, and I

I just couldn’t hold out anymore, finally gave in and picked up a Nintendo Wii, but I had to buy it off ebay. This is my virtual self, my Mii, that I created on the Wii (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it). I’m no artist, so this is as close as I could get to my real self. I’ve already spent way too much time messing with the Mii and playing tennis, my arm is already kinda sore. The Wii has to be one of the funnest game consoles ever and I haven’t even really played anything else but Wii Sports. I’ve already had my first Wii mishap when I sent a glass bottle flying across the room, good thing the bottle was empty!
