Formed as a quartet in 1993 by Mike Housen and Mike Tubbs to create original and inspired music, East West is at once alternative, progressive, hard-driving, and melodic. The current lineup has been stable for the last two years and includes Ben Dacanay and Tedsu. East West has been compared to such established acts as Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, U2, Midnight Oil, and the Gin Blossoms. The band's live shows has earned it a reputation as a hard-playing, highly-energetic act. East West is currently unsigned and is building a fan base that is large enough to gain the attention of major recording labels.

Mike Housen (Lead Vocals, Guitar): Mike has been playing the guitar in various bands for the past 10 years and singing lead vocals for the last 6. His influences include Korn, U2, Metallica, and Big Country. Mike is a Cal State University of Northridge graduate with a degree in Environmental Sciences.

Mike Tubbs (Guitar, Vocals): Mike has been playing the guitar for 8 years and has played in bands for the last 5. His influences include Rage Against the Machine, Social Distortion, Tool, and The Ramones. Mike also plays the piano and records his own solo projects in a variety of styles.

Ben Dacanay (Drums): Ben has been playing the drums for 5 years and has played with East West for the last 2. His influences include The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, Primus and Latin, Afro-Cuban Jazz. Ben has also played in jazz combos and drum lines, and is constantly looking for new drumming techniques.

Tedsu (Bass Guitar): Tedsu has been playing the bass in various bands including two jazz combos for the past 8 years. His influences include Rush, Pink Floyd, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Pearl Jam, and New Order. Tedsu is a University of California Berkeley graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
