Wow, its been a while since I last posted but I have a really good excuse. I quit Sony Pictures a month ago and moved up to San Jose for a job at Apple. Its been a really crazy adventure moving up here and starting a new job. My last day at Sony was on a Wednesday, the movers picked up my stuff on Thursday, I drove up on Friday and started work on Monday. The movers didn’t deliver my stuff until a couple days after I started work so it was kinda interesting roughing it and camping out in an empty house. Makes you realize how few things you really need to live.
The only hiccup was that my car was hit by another car while it was parked on the street in front of my new place. I had just arrived in San Jose after driving up from LA and I had only been there for a couple of hours. The whole left side of the car was smashed in and the the guy that hit my car took off. All the neighbors came out and were really supportive. One of the neighbors caught the other driver’s license plate but neither the police or the insurance were interested in catching the guy. Worst part was that my cats were still in the car as I hadn’t unpacked it yet. Luckily they were not harmed and I didn’t get hurt so I wasn’t too upset considering it could have been much worse. The car is in the shop now and the insurance is covering it, but I’m so tired of driving the rental car. Its a Dodge Avenger, makes it sound like some kind of superhero.
More on the new job and home, and the car in later posts….

My niece Liana can’t get enough of the Wii even though her mommy and daddy were nice enough to bring one home last Xmas. She knows where the local video game store is and when we are near she runs to the store shouting “Wii”. If we don’t go inside and play she gets upset. Once in the store she asks to be picked up so she can play the Wii. Here she is playing Super Mario Galaxy with a little help from daddy. Although the picture doesn’t really show it, she does understand that swinging the Wiimote around will make Mario do stuff.

After the Star Trek show, we walked around the Queen Mary area and stumbled upon the Scorpion Russian Submarine. It looked interesting and we decided to take a look inside.
Here’s the front torpedo bay.
The torpedos were surprisingly big.
The dining room is a bit cramped.
But still better than the toilet.
If things get bad, you can always put on the escape suit and climb through the torpedo tubes.
The rest of the pictures can be found the gallery.

Went to Star Trek the Tour this weekend with my friends Nick and Marcella. Here we are on the set on the original series bridge showing off our best Trek moves. The show had a lot of props and costumes from all the different Trek shows and movies. They even had a couple of simulator rides (think Star Tours) . Only odd thing was that the show was next to the Queen Mary in the dome that use to house the Spruce Goose.

So I’m sitting in the airport waiting for my flight when New Order’s Bizarre Love Triangle comes on. Can’t believe that New Order is now mainstream, easy listening, background music. Back in high school they were considered a cool band. Guess the 80s are now a novelty period just like we use to think of the 50s and 60s when I was younger.

Wow, Harrison Ford doesn’t look old at all. The trailer looks really good. Hopefully Shia LaBeouf as Indy’s son won’t be too annoying.

Check out the new Elmo toy. He sings, he dances, he sits, and he stands by himself. Watch the first video with Elmo rapping and doing jazz hands. Be sure to watch the video again but focus on the creepy actor dude behind Elmo. Thats one weird, nerdy dude with zero rhythm!

A friend and I got bored and decided to go on a walking tour of downtown LA. We got about halfway through before calling it quits due to possible rain. Yes we are wimps. All the pictures are in my gallery.
This is the Bradbury building used in Blade Runner, one of my favorite movies. Building was also used in a music video from Heart.
Here’s another movie location. This one is from the scene in Fight Club where the giant ball sculpture is blown off its base.
The LA Central Market where you can get all kinds of food and stuff.
The shiny Disney Concert Hall.
People like to leave their mark on the concert hall.
The Angels Flight Incline, its no longer in operation.

I wonder what it means if I’ve been dreaming of donuts. And I mean an intense desire for donuts as in Homer Simpson. In my dream I couldn’t get enough donuts and ate boxes of them, and all different kinds too.

I’m tired of being stalked by Priuses when I’m walking in parking lots. At low speeds they run completely on their electric motors and you can’t hear them until they are right on your butt or passing by. They should be required to install bells on their hoods (like cats) or the drivers should be required to roll down their windows and make car engine noises.
