This is really infectious song by Tim Armstrong. Not really into Ska, but I can’t get this song out of my head, also lots of lyrical references for those of you in the Bay Area.

Hopefully Michael Bay doesn’t screw this up, he’s the guy that brought us such awesome (eyes rolling) movies as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, and The Rock, maybe having Steven Spielberg as the executive producer will keep him in check, though even Spielberg has had his share of questionable movies, A.I. anyone?

Here are some cell phone pics from my trip to the Bay Area last weekend to visit my brother and his family. We went to the de Young Museum in San Francisco and I got a little carried away with the cell phone camera.
First up is a series of panoramas stitched together from a bunch of pictures in Gimp (free version of Photoshop). Click here for the huge version.
Views from outside the museum.

Bonus picture of my niece, Liana, and me at the airport.

After I got the PS3 and sold my old PS2, I was unable to play Guitar Hero since the controller can’t be connected to the PS3 (at least without an adapter anyway). Just picked up Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360 and now my life is complete again. Have been playing almost none stop since I got it and now my left hand is numb. Who would have thought that a cheesy song like Warrant’s Cherry Pie would be so tough to play? Can’t believe that I actually have a little respect for the song now. Then again, watch the original video below and lose that respect all over again. Oh yeah, and there was the time someone at work called tech support and got the guitar player from Warrant! VH1 confirmed that he was indeed doing tech support on one of those “Where Are They Now” shows.

Am I the only person that actually waits for their group to be called before getting on a plane? The last few times I’ve flown it seems that my section is already full by the time I actually find my seat. Whats even worse is that the overhead bins are already filled too. So last time I tried getting in line with the group in front of me and still my section was full by the time I got to my seat, and I still felt guilty about jumping groups! Airlines, if you are gonna use the group seating method, at least enforce it. At least Southwest has the cattle cages to force people into the ABC groups.

Can it be true? The best PS3 game currently available is actually a PS2 game? Yes, I am talking about God Of War II, the sequel to one of the all time best games on the PS2. Its a good thing that the PS3 can play PS2 games, otherwise it would still be sitting in my living room gathering dust waiting for some good games to be released. Come on Sony, please focus on the PS3 as a gaming platform and not some multi-media, convergence, synergy thingamajig-dealie-bob. I love the Blu-Ray player, but I’d give up that feature if I could get some good games, and I’m not talking about the ones that were ported from the Xbox 360. Sony, please don’t let the PS3 die from the same “oh, it also plays games” marketing confusion that slowly killed the PSP. As a side note, the PS2 console is still outselling the PS3 by about a 3:1 ratio.

Do you leave your computer on all the time? Then you might want to consider donating some of your spare CPU time to a worthy project like World Community Grid. This project, like SETI@home (a UC Berkeley Project) and Folding@home (a stanfurd project, which also runs on the PS3), uses your computer to perform complex calculations on large datasets. World Community Grid has projects that will help fight cancer, AIDS, and Muscular Dystrophy. After downloading and installing some software, the servers at these projects will send a small amount of data to your computer and ask it to perform some calculations on the data when its not doing anything like when your screensaver comes on. When your computer is done, the results are sent back to the project servers. It takes no effort on your part and you get to tell your friends that your computer is part of a distributed super-computer, okay so maybe its not something you’ll tattoo to your forehead, but its still a worthy cause.

Read this blog post today and it almost made me cry. Its so sad that a little girl has to learn how snotty people can be over something so trivial.

Having nothing better to do while waiting for some friends at the LA County Museum of Art, I decided to experiment with the cellphone camera.
